About us...
 |
White Eagles Volleyball Club (WEVC) was formed in 1976 by members of the local Polish scout group and was based around the Polish community based in Balham. The club's success and friendly atmosphere now draws players from all nationalities and ethnic groups.
The club is based in South West London with training sessions taking in Balham, Battersea and Tooting, but this doesn't mean that you must live in the area to join. However, it does mean that training sessions and many of the club's activities are based in the borough. |
The Club is focused
on developing players and has managed successfully to
bring several juniors up to standards for the England
squads and several senior players have joined top National
League teams.
WEVC
went from a single men's team to a men's and a ladies'
team within a few years of existence. After a slight
blip in the 1990's, the club now comprises four men's
, three ladies ' and a
number of junior teams. All of the senior teams play
in the
London Volleyball League whilst the seniors
and the juniors are represented in the National Cups.
We offer opportunities
for people to become involved in playing, coaching ,
refereeing and running a vibrant and growing
club that has teams for men and women, beginners and
experienced players alike.
There are
also annual Old Eagles matches, the Grudge matches where
our not so junior club members meet our not so senior
members! WEVC is also involved in many of UK and international
summer outdoor tournaments.
